Forget Fast Food, Because the Smashburger at BUNS in West Virginia is King

If you've lived in West Virginia long enough, you know that the best burgers and fries don't come from a generic fast food joint. When it's real comfort food you're craving, it's best to go local. BUNS in Weston is one such place known for its no-frills foods, including pizza, wings, and burgers. And the smashburgers, in our humble opinion, are some of the best you'll find in all of West Virginia.

BUNS is a relatively new restaurant, having opened its doors in 2021. Almost immediately, however, locals took notice. Today, the restaurant has a dedicated group of regulars along with new visitors traveling through Weston. Anyone who steps inside will invariably come to the same conclusion: the food here is good. A locally-owned business that supports the community through local charity organizations, BUNS is dedicated to quality and service.

This commitment really shines through on the menu, which focuses on made-to-order burgers. The meat is sourced locally and grilled to perfection. From there, you can choose from a specialty burger or make it your own. Folks rave about the Smoke Burger, made with grilled onions, Chipotle mayo, cheese, and smoked bacon. But you can't go wrong with the Classic, a smashburger with ketchup, mustard, onions, pickles, and cheese.

There are some limited-time specials available too, such as this Farm Burger crafted with locally ground beef, Virginia ham, and a local fried egg. Pair your burger with a side of fries or beer-battered onion rings and you'll have one of the heartiest meals imaginable.

Of course, there are other options for those not in the mood for a burger. By all accounts, the hand-crafted pizza is equally as impressive. The 14-inch pizza is the perfect option for takeout—just don't forget a side of cheesy bread and their homemade ranch!
