No matter how you feel about wine, you should plan a trip to Westport Winery as soon as possible... and plan on bringing the entire family. Despite its name, this day trip destination offers so much more than good vino (although you'll find plenty of that, and it really is exceptional). This is a place that has something for everyone.

Westport Winery is located in Aberdeen, about a 15-minute drive from the coastal town of Westport.

It all started over a decade ago, when the Roberts family purchased land in Grays Harbor County and decided to combine their love of winemaking and the sea.

Great Northwest Wine Magazine recently named Westport Winery the 2022 Washington Winery of the Year, and for good reason... their wine list is practically endless.

And wine isn't the only thing they offer here. A few years ago, the family opened a distillery called Ocean's Daughter. Spirits include vodka, gin, whiskey, agave spirits, liqueur, and rum.

Whether you have children or you're just a kid at heart, you'll fall in love with the on-site International Mermaid Museum.

Admission is a mere $3 (children under 5 are free), and it's easy to spend an hour or two immersing yourself in mermaid (and sea life!) culture.

You can learn about all kinds of mermaid mythology here, and it's fascinating—but look closely and you'll see all kinds of ocean ecology facts.
