The Amazing Washington Restaurant You Can Only Get To By Gondola

Crystal Mountain Resort is Washington's largest ski resort, with 11 lifts and the only 8-passenger gondola in the state. And at the top of that gondola is where you'll find Summit House Restaurant, where you can dine on burgers and fish tacos with the best views ever.

If you're scared of heights, you're out of luck... the gondola is the only way to reach the Summit House.

In fact, the restaurant limits its hours based on gondola operation times. So if the last gondola leaves at 8 PM, you had better be finishing dessert by 7:50.

The views from the top are simply spectacular.

This is Washington's highest elevation restaurant.

There's really no better place to be on a warm summer day.

On a clear day, you'll have views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Baker and Glacier Peak.

The Summit House Restaurant is typically open for lunches, but during the summer they serve dinner on Saturdays.

The menu rotates seasonally, but you'll always find a good selection of soups, sandwiches, wraps, burgers and entrees.

The house made chili pairs perfectly with a bottle of wine and an amazing view of Mt. Rainier.

Occasionally the restaurant will have special events, like the recent 'Wine and Dine with the Stars' dinner and Perseid Meteor Shower viewing.

Don't worry, Washingtonians. There are still plenty of sunny days left to ride the gondola to the Summit House.

But wear warm clothes or take a jacket anyway, because the higher elevation means lower temperatures.

We've got some incredibly unique restaurants here in Washington, including one of the most remote restaurants in the country, which is only accessible by boat.
