The Burgers At This Washington Restaurant Are So Gigantic They Fall Off The Plate
Miner’s Drive-In in Yakima, Washington, is famous for its giant burgers and has been a local favorite for over 70 years.
There are times when nothing but a giant (and we do mean giant) burger will do. If you grew up in Central Washington or played sports in the area as a child, you probably know what to do when those cravings strike: Head to Miner's Drive-In in Yakima.
Located at 2415 S. 1st St. in Union Gap, Miner's is over 70 years old.
Whether you pull your car in to the expansive drive thru or step inside, you'll be overwhelmed by the menu options.
From chicken strips to salads and seafood, plus an extensive ice cream menu, you'll have a lot of options here.
Of course, the vast majority of customers choose the Big Miner burger, which really lives up to its name.
Whether you get your burger fully loaded or plain with cheese, you can count on it being enormous.
You can even get a Big Miner Double if you're starving, although the odds of finishing it in a single setting are slim to none.
Miner's was opened by the Miner family in 1948. At the time, burgers and shakes were both 25 cents.
While that's no longer the case, prices here are still reasonable for the amount of food you get... and the business is still owned by Mr. Lee Miner, who just turned 86.
Miner's is still going strong. Stop in the next time you're in Yakima and see why everyone still loves this local icon.
They're open daily from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m. on weeknights, 3:30 a.m. on weekends, so you can satisfy those late night cravings.
