Dining out is a great experience for many reasons. And when you live in a state with a phenomenal food scene like Washington, you'll want to do it as frequently as you can.
Of course, most of us don't have unlimited funds, and restaurants aren't exactly known for being cheap. Luckily, there are plenty of budget-friendly spots you can visit for a delicious meal that won't break the bank. These are a few of our favorites.
1. Soulful Soups & Spirits (Spokane)
Soulful Soups & Spirits has been a part of downtown Spokane for almost two decades. Between their rotating list of irresistible soups, the sandwiches and salads, and the irresistible beer bread, it's impossible not to get addicted to the food here. The fact that it's all quite affordable is just a bonus.
2. Marination Ma Kai (Seattle)
Marination Ma Kai is located in West Seattle. Its waterfront location and tropical drinks will make you feel like you're on an exotic vacation. But the fusion tacos, kimchi fried rice, and other delicacies definitely don't reflect elevated vacation prices.
3. Taqueria El Sabor (Tacoma)
Street tacos are an affordable delicacy you'll find at taco trucks all over the state. But if you want a sit-down meal of amazing quality, Tacoma's Taqueria El Sabor is the place to go. The business started out as a food truck in Kent in the late 90s, but they've been in Tacoma since 2011. The food is fresh and flavorful, and it also happens to be very budget-friendly.
4. Bantam (Bellingham)
Fried chicken lovers, rejoice. Bantam Kitchen & Bar serves some of the most scrumptious fried chicken (and rotisserie chicken, and Southern-style sides) in the state. And while the prices here aren't the cheapest in town (which is good, as they pay their staff a living wage), for the portions and the quality, it's an absolute steal.
5. Pupuseria Salvadoreña Restaurant (Richland)
If you live in the Tri Cities and you have yet to experience Pupuseria Salvadoreña, do yourself a favor and change that. Not only is the quality of the food fantastic, but the prices will shock you (in a good way).
6. Gyro House (Yakima)
Gyro House is a small, unassuming Greek restaurant that sits at the end of a strip mall. But they have certainly mastered the art of the gyro here, and they have the tastiest fries in town. And many of its most popular menu items are less than $10.
7. Esters Enoteca (Seattle)
Esters Enoteca, a fast-casual eatery and wine shop, sits nestled in Seattle's eclectic Fremont neighborhood. Here, you can fill up on pastas for $15 or less, small plates for $5, and dessert for a mere $5. Yes, please!
