This Restaurant In Virginia Used To Be A Firestation And It’s Incredible
Here in Virginia, we're all for a good ol' fashioned repurposing. In an effort to honor historic sites, many businesses have opted to keep the original bones of a structure rather than starting from scratch. For proof of this, look no further than our converted railcars, train depots, and even gas stations. Today, we're featuring a great little restaurant in Fairfax known as the Old Firestation #3. Inside, you'll find tasty food as well as an insight into this former station.
With a bright red awning and welcoming signage, the Old Firestation #3 is hard to miss. Its exact location is 3988 University Dr, Fairfax, VA 22030.
Step inside and you'll notice plenty of fire station memorabilia, such as old signage and the bright red murals.
While this eatery is beloved for its unmistakable and festive theme, the food is equally appealing.
In addition to your classic bar fare, you can also expect a delightful selection of Greek favorites, such as baklava, moussaka, and souvlaki.
Photographed below is the meatball casserole, a perfect appetizer to share and excellent comfort food.
And while it may seem an unlikely spot for authentic Greek cuisine, visitors will agree that the food does not disappoint...
...especially if you opt for an order of their famous onion rings.
When the weather allows for it, seating out back is a great way to enjoy the unique atmosphere. There's also live music on select nights.
Whether you're partial to the fire station motif or the menu, you'll love spending time in one of Virginia's most uniquely repurposed buildings.
