The Topiwala family purchased this old gas station and turned it into a craft bottle shop in 1986. Austinites flocked to this convenient store to try a variety of craft beverages.
Like most things in Austin, this bottle shop started to evolve.
Soon, The Whip In became a grocery story for the Travis Heights area. Elegant bottles of wine lined the shelves and even more varieties of craft beer joined the party.
Before you know it, The Whip In became a hot spot for liquor enthusiasts
The Whip In now has 65 drafts, 300 retail craft beers, and over 400 bottles of wine.
