Tennessee is known for its comfort foods like cornbread, fried chicken, and of course, homemade buttermilk biscuits. But when it comes to desserts, the folks of Tennessee really shine. All across the state there are plenty of places where you can get some of the best sweets you've ever had, and it can be hard to pick between the plethora of options. We've compiled a short list of some of our favorites, but no matter where you go in Tennessee, you're sure to get your sweet tooth satisfied.

9. Interim - Memphis
One of Memphis's most underrated restaurants is Interim, located in East Memphis. Their desserts are true works of art, but the Opera Cake is the absolute must for any first-timers. 5040 Sanderlin Ave.
8. Biscuit Love - Nashville
If you get up early enough, or if you're brave enough to face the lines, Biscuit Love is a truly incredible option for brunch in Nashville. Their biscuit donuts (called bo-nuts) are the perfect way to finish any meal. 316 11th Ave S.
7. The Hot Chocolatier - Chattanooga
The Hot Chocolatier in Chattanooga does both desserts and hot chocolate that are absolutely to-die-for good. While everything is incredible, they're particularly known for their array of truffles. You can even order them online! 1437 Market St.
6. Litton's Market, Restaurant, & Bakery
Litton's Market in Knoxville is the perfect Americana restaurant, serving up the best burgers and sandwiches in the city. But they are also known for their red velvet cake, so be sure to save room. 2803 Essary Dr.
5. Coolato Gelato - Chattanooga
Transport yourself to the streets of Rome by visiting this gelato spot in Chattanooga. They serve all kinds of treats, but the gelato is the must-have here. 524 S Gay St.
4. Adele's - Nashville
Adele's is located in the Gulch in Nashville, and they're typically not known as a dessert restaurant, but for those of us lucky enough to have had their coconut cake, we know this is the best cake in the city. 1210 McGavock St.
3. Countryside Cafe - Ooltewah
Yes, the name of the town is Ooltewah, and it happens to be the town where you'll find the best banana pudding in the entire country (probably). Countryside Cafe is perfect for the best home cooking you'll find, but you have to save room for some of this pudding for dessert. 8223 Mahan Gap Rd.
2. The Donut Friar - Gatlinburg
The Donut Friar has been serving visitors to Gatlinburg for nearly 50 years, and there's a reason they've stayed in business so long. Their donuts are some of the best you'll find (try the apple pillow!). 634 Parkway #15.
1. Sweet Creations Pie Bakery - Nashville
Nashville's best pies are found at a little bakery on Jefferson in North Nashville, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Sweet Creations caters and delivers special orders, but you can always visit them as well. Get the pecan pie. You'll thank us later. 942 Jefferson St.
