Here we go again...tempting you with food you just can't resist. Unless...you're one of those people that typically judge a book by its cover. Or ARE you? We've gathered up 10 "hole-in-the-wall" restaurants that dish out some of the best eats you'll find - in spite of how they look on the outside. Are you up for the challenge? Here's the list of the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants in South Carolina and it's not in any particular order...
1. Pawleys Island Tavern
That, my friend, is a big piece of fried chicken under that beautiful provolone and those jalapenos. In addition to great pub fare, Pawleys Island Tavern usually has some live music.
2. Southern Belly BBQ
This BBQ joint is a hidden gem in Columbia. Choose from more sauces than you can count on one hand and sit back and stuff your face.
3. Bullies BBQ
Actually, when it comes to size, Bullies is NOT a small place, but they do let you write all over the walls, which is entirely related to why they made this list. Oh, and they have stellar food! Try the ribs, they're amazing.
4. Wreck of the Richard & Charlene
Wreck of the Richard and Charlene is a real dive and they know it. And the food is consistently great and always fresh! It's a little hard to find but worth the effort. The Wreck is a LANDMARK on Mount Pleasant's famous food alley called "Shem Creek."
5. McCutcheon's Cheeseburger House
We've got news if you think McCutcheons Cheeseburger House has "retro" decor. It's the real thing...and so is this loaded burger. You want to lick your screen right now for a taste of that bacon, don't you?
6. Northwest Grill
Someone somewhere voted Northwest Grill's burger the BEST in Greenville County.

...Speaking of hot dogs...hot dogs and ice cream are what's up at The Rough House in Abbeville. It's a great place to take the kids.
8. McConkey's Jungle Shack
This little roadside gem dishes out some hardcore food...like these mahi tacos that look good enough to be on TV.
