Don’t Pass By This Unassuming Asian Restaurant Housed In A South Carolina Gas Station Without Stopping
If you've ever wondered about food in a gas station and whether or not it's any good or if you've had a less-than-desirable experience in the past by such, then you need to give Ko Cha Korean Restaurant a try! It's one of the best Asian restaurants in Charleston, well-loved by customers who have given it an overall average 4.5-star rating on Google. And if you're not necessarily a huge fan of Korean cuisine but you enjoy other types of Asian dishes, well, you'll find a mixture of Asian selections here.
Ko Cha Korean Restaurant is located at an Exxon gas station on Mary Ader Avenue in the West Ashley area of Charleston.
It's obviously not a fancy place and has a retro vibe inside with simple decor and a clean, peaceful type of atmosphere.
You'll get excellent, friendly service, and the prices are reasonable with good portion sizes. Order take-out or eat inside the restaurant.
During busier times, be prepared to wait a little longer than other times, of course, but you'll find the food to be worth the wait!
You can enjoy the usual favorites you've come to love when eating Asian cuisine, such as hibachi, lo mein, General Tso chicken, and kimchi, which is a customer-favorite. In fact, one customer who drove an hour to eat here said the kimchi was the best he'd had in a long time.
Soup is always a good option!
The seafood tofu soup is spectacular.
Also on the menu are bento boxes, which come with a main entree and choice of six sides, which could include green beans with rice noodles, braised tofu, kimchi, a spicy cabbage-tofu combination, and much more. The entree shown here is beef bulgogi, which is a Korean barbecue that's wonderfully tender and juicy and seeping with incredible flavor.
And if all of that wasn't enough to move this little spot to the top of your bucket list, it's also a family-owned and operated Korean restaurant, one of the best Asian restaurants in Charleston. You may want to just plan a trip, because you know there's always plenty of fun to be had in the lowcountry of South Carolina!
