This Oregon Wine and Chowder Trail Is Everything You’ve Ever Dreamt Of And More
Florence, Oregon hosts an annual Wine & Chowder Trail featuring wine tastings, chowder samples, and a glass float hunt.
Two of the very best things that are made in Oregon are wine and clam chowder, and there's an event coming up soon that combines both. You won't want to miss the Florence Wine & Chowder Trail this year.
Florence is a quiet town on the Oregon Coast with lots of historic charm. Florence is well-known for its galleries, restaurants, and of course, its gorgeous river - the Siuslaw.
You'll find it directly west of Eugene, about 4.5 miles south of Heceta Beach.
On October 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2018, Florence will celebrate its 8th Annual Wine And Chowder Trail. The trail travels through Old Town in Florence, during three fun-filled days.
The festival kicks off on Friday, October 5th with its Great Glass Float Trail. Enter to win, and search for the beautiful glass floats that are hidden all around town. The glass float trail goes throughout all three days of the event, with the drawing held on Sunday at 3 p.m..
On Saturday, take the Wine Trail from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.. The trail includes wine tastings from 10 different area wineries. Stop at several different Old Town shops for tastings, including Bridgeport Market, Old Town Barber Shop, Backstreet Gallery, and more.
On Sunday, sample chowder at 11 different locations along the Chowder Trail, and vote for your favorite. Chowder is offered at restaurants like Bay Street Grille, as well as locations including Beach House Gifts and Socks To A T.
