Everyone is constantly talking about how immaculate and revolutionary the food in Portland is, and it's true. There's a good restaurant in every direction, in every neighborhood, and on every corner. Although this list could be a mile long, we've shortened it to what we think really stands out in the city. Here's a list of some of the best restaurants in Portland:
1. Veritable Quandry - SW Portland
With a long standing history, Veritable Quandry has been renowned for their unconventional and fresh dishes. They make every plate look like a piece of art.
2. ¿Por Qué No? Taqueria - Multiple Locations
If you're looking for some of the best Mexican food in town, this is the place. The people of Portland find themselves coming here for the tacos but staying for the pomegranate margaritas.
3. The Picnic House - SW Portland
Picnic House does a spectacular job of providing a fresh approach to our traditional favorites. Above is a picture of their delicious meatloaf with bacon tomato jam, but you really have to try their macaroni and cheese with pickled apples.
4. Screen Door - East Portland
If you mix Southern-style food with fresh ingredients collected from a nearby garden, you get the magical Screen Door. Known for their fried chicken and grits, make sure you come here with an empty stomach.
5. Oven and Shaker - NW Portland
Having been whipping up pies and cocktails since 2011, this Portland gem quickly became a neighborhood favorite. I mean, what is better than that combo?
6. Podnah's Pit Barbeque - NE Portland
