The small town of Angier got a bit sweeter in 2003 with the opening of Sunni Sky’s Homemade Ice Cream.

Operating seasonally from March 1st thru December 31st, the sweet shop’s opening is much-anticipated and often draws a crowd.

It’s not just locals who love Sunni Sky’s, though. Over the years, it’s been featured in several publications.

There are a couple of things that contribute to Sunni Sky’s popularity. The first is that the ice cream is homemade.

Another reason for the eatery’s acclaim is the massive menu – the shop serves 125+ flavors of ice cream!

The gigantic variety includes every flavor you can imagine – and then some.

Peruse the sweet selection and you’ll find everything from strawberry cheesecake to…

…Cold Sweat, a spicy concoction made with a variety of peppers. Deemed the hottest ice cream in the world, you have to sign a waiver to buy it.

The large variety can make it difficult to decide which flavor to order. Luckily, samples are encouraged.

Once you select a flavor, you can enjoy the signature homemade ice cream in a cup or cone, or as a shake, sundae, or other ice cream-based treat.
