These 9 Restaurants Serve The Best Wings In Buffalo
If you've never had anyone from out of town ask you for your recommendation on where to get wings, you must be living under a rock. When it comes to wings, we all know that no one does it like Buffalo, but once you're in Buffalo, who does it best? Here are the top nine restaurants that serve the best wings in Buffalo.
1. Anchor Bar (1047 Main Street)
We would be wrong not to have the home of the original chicken wing as #1 on this list. Anchor Bar is the birthplace of the wing and to this day, they still bring in crowds with their classic recipe.
2. Gabriel's Gate (145 Allen Street)
If meaty, flavorful wings are your thing, head to Gabriel's Gate in Allentown. The atmosphere of the restaurant is almost equal to how delicious their wings are. Almost.
3. Duff's (Multiple Locations)
Duff's is another must-have if you're looking for some of Buffalo's favorite wings. They typically rank just below Anchor Bar in terms of popularity with out-of-towners, and several celebrities (including President Obama!) have dined at Duff's. Their wings are saucy and spicy. Just ask anyone who's braved the "HOT"!
4. Nine-Eleven Tavern (9-11 Bloomfield Avenue)
Nine-Eleven Tavern might not look like much from the outside, but inside, you'll find what are arguably some of the best wings in Buffalo. Nine-Eleven Tavern cooks up their own homemade chicken wing sauce, and it is to die for! Head to this local dive and be sure to bring cash. They kick it old school here!
5. Sportsmens Tavern (326 Amherst Street)
Sportsmens Tavern is a different take on "dinner and a show." Catch live music and place an order of wings to get wined and dined, Buffalo style! This is another one that doesn't take cards, so bring cash or be prepared to utilize their in-house ATM during your visit.
6. Doc Sullivan's (474 Abbott Road)
Doc Sullivan's is an Irish Bar in South Buffalo that serves up spicy "Smitty's Wings," a different take on Buffalo's beloved classic. Order them hot even if you think you can't handle the heat. The wings are crispy, perfectly saucy, and accompanied by house-made bleu cheese.
7. Swannie House (170 Ohio Street)
This Buffalo fixture serves up delectable wings in a historic atmosphere and with some of the most delicious flavors imaginable. Once you get a taste of their famous "Swannie Sauce," you'll be addicted!
8. La Nova (371 W. Ferry Street)
Nothing... and we mean nothing... goes together better than pizza and wings, and very few places do the classic combo better than La Nova. While we obviously love the classic hot, medium, or mild wings, La Nova specializes in BBQ, and you do not want to miss out on these! Trust us when we tell you... they are finger-licking good.
9. Wing Kings (1281 Hertel Avenue)
Speaking of different flavors... Wing Kings on Hertel serves up several different specialty sauces on their wings. Try the garlic parm, honey mustard, Asian-inspired, Chiavetta's, or 911 flavors to spice up your wing game!
