For The Best Shrimp Of Your Life, Head To This Hole-In-The-Wall Seafood Restaurant In New York
Bailey Seafood in Buffalo offers a variety of fresh, southern-inspired seafood dishes with a focus on quality and evolving menu options.
We may not be as known for our seafood as our neighbors in New England, but there are plenty of great seafood restaurants in New York. One spot that has been serving up fresh seafood for nearly 40 years is Bailey Seafood in Buffalo. This little family-owned restaurant has an extensive menu with a variety of dishes. Their menu is ever-evolving, so you'll never get bored, and they boast that they can prepare shrimp in "a million different ways." All the ingredients are delivered fresh, so you're practically eating your seafood just off the boat. It doesn't get much more delicious than this!
This place started with just one employee back in 1985. They receive shipments of practically never-ending fish that are sent over just as they're caught.
The fish are not pre-cooked and are hand-breaded right on location. There's a heavy focus on quality and it shows in the deliciously fresh food.
Some seafood restaurants have a tendency to concentrate on the main foods at the expense of side dishes. That isn't the case here. You'll find that the sides at Bailey Seafood are just as good as the seafood.
They have a wide variety of southern-inspired dishes here. Cajun rice, fried okra, collard greens, cornbread: you might feel like you left the Empire State and ended up in Louisiana!
Of course, the real star of the show is the seafood. They have a ton of options that are not easily found elsewhere in Buffalo.
The Louisiana crawfish are cooked up in a Cajun butter sauce that's simply sublime.
We can't help but go back to the shrimp though. You can get it in so many different ways here, and they are all absolutely delicious.
