11 Foods That Every Buffalonian Craves When They Leave Buffalo

One of the biggest complaints from Buffalonians who roam away from home is that they can't get their favorite foods anymore. It's such an issue, in fact, that several companies have dedicated themselves to offer national shipping for Buffalo-centric items! What is it about Buffalo food that makes it so easily missed? We're not entirely sure, but we do know that these 11 items of Queen City cuisine are craved by every Buffalonian when they leave Buffalo.

1. Wings

We're stating the obvious here, but it needs to be said. Wings are completely deserving of the #1 spot.

2. Perry's ice cream

When it comes to ice cream, Perry's reigns supreme. Unfortunately, you can only find this creamy goodness in grocery store aisles in and around Western New York.

3. Pizza

There's a big difference between New York style pizza and Buffalo, NY style pizza. We're admittedly biased, but ours is better. You never realize how much you miss this Buffalo dish until you can't have it on the regular!

4. Speaking of pizza...

Pizza logs are a Western New York staple that are surely missed by roaming Buffalonians.

5. Bison Dip

When I dip, you dip, we dip. Buffalonians dip almost everything in Bison Dip, and we're not ashamed! This is one of the most popular Buffalo food items that out-of-towners have shipped to them from the 716.

6. Chiavetta's chicken BBQ

One bite of Chiavetta's barbecue and you'll be instantly transported back to Buffalo. Or at least your taste buds will be!

7. Sponge candy

We don't know what it is about sponge candy (and most of us don't know what it's even made of), but you can't go wrong with this Buffalo delicacy! You also can't usually find the real deal anywhere outside of Western New York, which can be a real bummer when you're not in Buffalo.

8. Chicken finger subs

Do we even need an explanation for this one? Buffalo chicken finger subs are life, and nowhere does it better than Buffalo!

9. Mighty Taco

Whether you're a fan of the Super Mighty or traditional chips and queso, there's no denying that Buffalo's love for Mighty runs deep.

10. Paula's Donuts

No one - I repeat - no one does donuts better than Paula! This Buffalo food is more than just a breakfast item. It's a staple.

11. Beef on weck

Dipped in au jus or drenched in horseradish, this is the quintessential Buffalo food. We're not sure why no one else seems to have gotten the memo that kimmelweck rolls are amazing, but we're okay with it staying Buffalo's little secret!
