New Jersey’s Americana Kitchen & Bar Has Set Up A No-Contact Outdoor Market Where You Can Stock Up On Food Staples
Americana Kitchen & Bar in East Windsor, New Jersey, has adapted to COVID-19 by offering a no-contact outdoor market and delivery services.
I'm in awe of the way New Jersey businesses have quickly adapted to our current situation. While many have been temporarily closed to prevent the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), essential businesses remain open. Restaurants are still able to offer delivery and take-out services and many are coming up with creative new ways to serve customers while keeping staff and patrons safe.
Americana Kitchen & Bar (formerly Americana Diner) in East Windsor has been serving the community for over 30 years.
Their beautiful, modern building was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and The Star Ledger deemed Americana New Jersey's top diner in 2012.
They've got a mouthwatering menu...
Delicious desserts and a fantastic wine selection!
If that's not reason enough to love them, they've recently opened an outdoor market.
According to their Facebook post on March 18th, they launched the market to "give our guests no-contact access to many items they need daily. We are starting with our breads, pastries and desserts -- all wrapped -- and freshly brewed coffee."
The market will be open at 10 a.m. daily and payment will be via an honor-based AKB punch card system.
In recent days, they've offered a wider selection of foods including these incredible DIY buttermilk pancake kits. It's similar to a farmer's market!
They are also open for local delivery and take-out between 4-7 p.m. (as of publication time). They've got breads, soups, salads, a variety of entrees and entire family-style dinners. The menu will change daily based on available ingredients. To top it all off, there's a community shop that allows customers to purchase certain ingredients (like meats) wholesale with zero mark-up.
What they're doing for the community is magnificent but it's not the only way they give back. Those punch cards I mentioned? They're AKB neighborhood baker cards, and they donate 5 loaves of bread to RISE for every card purchased. There are a lot of wonderful details on their website, so check it out to learn more about hours, ordering, and all they have to offer.
