This Wine-Themed Train In New Jersey Will Give You The Ride Of A Lifetime
Enjoy a scenic train ride with wine tasting at the Delaware River Railroad Excursions in New Jersey.
How does a relaxing ride with a glass of wine to wind down sound? If your answer was "like perfection," or something similar, this scenic train ride is for you. New Jersey has plenty of family-friendly locomotive excursions, but this is one experience where you'll want to leave the kids at home. It's perfect for a unique date, girlfriend getaway or outing with friends.
Delaware River Railroad Excursions operates the Warren County Winery Train from May 6-October 29th. It runs primarily on select weekend dates.
Enjoy about 90 minutes of train time, including a guided tour of the Delaware River Valley.
You'll learn about railroad history and equipment along the way.
In addition to the train ride, you'll take a short bus ride to the beautiful Villa Milagro Vineyards.
While you're here, you'll tour the vineyards and learn about their organic farming practices and wine making process.
You'll also tour the wine making, aging and bottling areas, but I like the vineyard best; it offers panoramic views of 4 counties in two states.
Your tour will end with a wine tasting and hors d'oeuvres.
Tours are $35, offer hours of fun (excursions typically total about 4 hours) and the opportunity to stop at a nearby mine or picnic at the station's groves. You'll find the station at 99 Elizabeth Street, Phillipsburg. For more details and booking info, click here. For other unique train trips in New Jersey, check out this list.
