Dine For Less Than $10 A Person At This Retro Latin Eatery In New Jersey

There's no question that it feels like everything's getting more expensive. Discussing what's causing it could ruin any dinner party, but there's one thing we can all agree on - we've gotta eat! We've all felt that sticker shock at the fast food counter, but I often find that the best spots for cheap eats in New Jersey are more often found off the beaten path. And that's exactly where I found the Latin Diner, a new retro restaurant hidden in Asbury Park less than a mile from the boardwalk. This restaurant actually only opened in summer 2023, but its unique diner facade makes it feel like it's been around for decades - as do the rock-bottom prices! The restaurant is known for its extensive selection of rotating lunch specials, none of which top $10 and provide a ton of food. It might just be my new favorite spot on the Jersey Shore, and we bet you'll agree.

With a retro diner vibe and a laid-back atmosphere, Latin Diner is the newest addition to the Asbury Parks cheap-eats scene - and it's well worth a visit.

You can take a seat at the old-school stools, or grab your food to go and take it to one of the outdoor patio spots.

What's on offer? That depends on what day you're here, as the restaurant rotates through dozens of lunch specials. Only a few items on the entire menu top $10, and none of the lunch special plates go over.

Just head on up to the old-school steam table and point to the main course you'd like!

There's an extensive breakfast menu, including what might be the most affordable steak-and-eggs special anywhere in New Jersey.

For lunch and dinner, it's hearty portions of chicken, pork, beef, and even goat stew over rice and beans.

Only have time for a quick bite? You can easily make a meal out of the delicious empanadas - they're only $1.50 each!

To find out more you can go...to the Latin Diner and pick up a take-out menu, or just order and have a seat! This old-school restaurant doesn't have a website or Facebook page. This is an amazing place for lunch before an evening show at the town's most famous music venue, The Stone Pony.

If you're on a bit more of a high-roller vacation in Asbury Park and are looking for accommodations to match, you won't go wrong at the Asbury Ocean Club hotel - everything about this place screams luxury and comfort.
