It's always enjoyable to hit up the bar and enjoy some spirits. But sometimes it can feel like the bar experience is missing something - perhaps another kind of spirit is needed? Yep, we're talking about ghosts.
One of the most famous haunted places in New Jersey is actually a restaurant and bar in Hoboken. The Brass Rail is known just as much for its delicious cocktails and mouthwatering meals as it is for the myriad ghosts who have made the bar their eternal home. Apparently, a couple who met a tragic end continues to roam the bar, causing minor chaos and creating a semi-creepy atmosphere at The Brass Rail.
The Brass Rail might be one of the livelier bars in New Jersey, but it has a spooky side to it as well.
Legend says in 1904, a bride tripped down the stairs, broke her neck, and died. Ever since, she's remained at the bar.
Her husband died shortly after, too. He has also been rumored to eternally remain at the bar.
Guests and employees alike have reported strange happenings, including seeing the ghostly figures of the doomed bride and groom.
Lights regularly flicker, cold spots appear, and items go missing, only to turn up in plain sight later on. The phone often rings -- but no one is on the other line.
So, if you'd like some spirits with your spirits, head to The Brass Rail. you might just hear a disembodied voice join in on your conversation.
Oh, and the good news is the food is delicious, too!
So, next time you're in Hoboken, swing by The Brass Rail and enjoy a glass of wine. You truly never know who you might see - or hear - at this bar.
