This Tiny Shop In New Jersey Serves A Sausage Sandwich To Die For
Seaside Heights is renowned for its exceptional sausage sandwiches at Midway Steak House, a beloved boardwalk food spot.
Summer is full swing and the weekend is finally here! For many of us (especially with weather like this), that means time spent at the shore. New Jersey has several spectacular shore towns to choose from but if you're looking for a sausage sandwich, the best beach for you is...Seaside Heights!
Midway Steak House has been a must-stop in Seaside forever.
Not forever, exactly, but they've been around for decades and survived so much (Hurricane Sandy, 2013 Boardwalk Fire). It is a tiny little shop and by no means fancy. There's no seating and it doesn't look much different from any other boardwalk business...boarded up in the winter and alive with neon lights on summer nights. So, what makes it special?
The sausage sandwiches are out of this world!
Unlike the sandwich pictured, the sausage sandwiches at Midway Steak House are stuffed with thin, perfectly snappy sausages. They taste best topped with peppers and onions. People come from all over the Garden State just for a bite! But the sausage sandwiches aren't all this shop is known for - you have to try their cheese balls. Like any good boardwalk food joint, you'll also find cheese steak, fresh lemonade, fries, and funnel cake.
To top it all off, you're right in the heart of Seaside Heights.
Though this is an older picture, you'll still find an amusement park, arcades, and plentiful shopping and dining opportunities. Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach Water Park are favorites, along with Lucky Leo's arcade. Back from the beach a bit, you may also enjoy Hemingway's Cafe, Klee's Bar & Grill, and Karma Nightclub.
