However, its decor might be what sets it apart - it feels like you're dining in a stately old library, and this historic building's story dates back to 1785. Read on for all of the secrets of the most unique restaurant in New Hampshire!
The most interesting thing about the Library Restaurant in Portsmouth is that it wasn't actually ever a library. Although, they certainly do pull off the theme quite well!
Surprisingly, the restaurant is housed within a building built back in 1785 as a home for a local judge.
Later, in 1833, it went on to become a hotel and was expanded over the years to be even more grand than when it was first built.
Notable folks from George Washington to John F. Kennedy stayed here. Today, the library theme feels natural. It's fun to imagine the library-like rooms that once existed here when past Presidents and dignitaries slept here.
It's also fun to enjoy a great meal with drinks!
The steakhouse offers an impressive menu, including things like this land and sea dinner. It's perfect if you just can't choose!
Seafood lovers will appreciate things like the lobster stuffed haddock.
And anyone who loves a beverage will be thrilled with the fun cocktail menu.
Settle in for a cozy meal, and be sure to leave room for dessert.
This unique restaurant in New Hampshire is great for a special occasion or just a night when you want to indulge in something special.
