Locals Say This Restaurant Is The Most Iconic In New Hampshire And We Totally Agree
Moxy in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is a beloved restaurant known for its inventive, homemade dishes and great ambiance.
When it comes to good food in New England we're all pretty darn lucky to be in New Hampshire! The food you'll find throughout the state is as good as any that those in larger states talk about. In fact, we believe it's better. And if you've lived here or visited here long enough, you'll agree. But if you're new around these parts we'll help you out. Check out this Portsmouth spot. It was recently named as one of the most iconic in the state and we think it's great.
It might be true that Moxy in Portsmouth hasn't been around since the dawning days of the city, but that doesn't mean it's not one of the most beloved restaurants in the state.
This cutie has a great outdoor patio area to enjoy a socially distanced meal, but it's also perfect for those incredible New Hampshire warm evenings.
But! If the weather requires that you take the fun indoors, know that you'll be comfy as can be at the warm and welcoming bar.
As much as we love the ambiance we love the food even more! You see, things here are inventive and homemade, which makes for the perfect New Hampshire meal.
Check out this fried chicken sandwich. It comes with pickle brined, hot honey, and buttermilk ranch slaw along with all the good stuff that makes a sandwich absolutely perfect.
We also love that they serve up specials like this warm glidden oyster dish that comes with melted leeks, dill butter, and garlic crunch.
And while Moxy might not be the oldest restaurant in the state, we love their take on produce that helps keep local farmers thriving. Check out this New Hampshire grown mushroom tartlet with gruyere and caramelized onions.
If breakfast is more your thing, you'll want to check out menu items like the smoked mackerel with squid ink fried rice, a sunny side egg, lettuce, and dill.
If all else fails, just head straight for dessert. That's not a tall order when you consider that they've got things like this sweet Brookdale Farm dish made with apples, cider caramel, and whipped cream. You'll love it!
And we think you'll love just about everything they offer. While they're closed for this winter, they'll be opening before you know and you'll want to be ready!
