There’s Nothing Better Than The Waterfront Tamarack Brewing On A Warm Montana Day

Tamarack Brewing Company in Lakeside, Montana, offers craft beers and delicious pub food near Flathead Lake and a rushing creek.

There are now over 100 craft breweries here in Montana, many of which have tempting taprooms for you to come to taste their brews. And while there are quite a few breweries in the Treasure State that have a lot to offer (tasty food, live music, and other events), there aren't many that have locations by the water.

Tamarack Brewing has two locations, one in Missoula and one in Lakeside. Not only is the Lakeside location mere steps from Flathead Lake, but it also sits right on the bank of a rushing creek.

You'll find Tamarack Brewing Company on Blacktail Road in Lakeside, nestled at the base of Blacktail Mountain near the shores of Flathead Lake.

Tamarack Alehouse and Grill is the on-site restaurant ready to provide you with delicious pub food.

It all started in 2007, when this family-owned brewery first opened its doors.

They produced 380 barrels of beer that first year. To put it in perspective, they now brew about 4,400 each year.

Tamarack's mission is to produce "adventure-crushing beer," so it's the perfect place to gather after a long hike, a day of skiing, or other outdoor adventures.

Their flagship beers include treats like Sip N' Go Naked IPA, Bear Bottom Blonde, and Switchback Stout.

On a warm summer day, you'll love gathering your group on the patio for a tasty meal.

The peaceful creek rushing by provides the perfect background before flowing into Flathead Lake.

If you can't decide on one beer, treat yourself to a tasting flight...

...the decision on what to eat, however, isn't as easy.

From the classic Keg Nachos to heartier entrees, you'll find something for everyone on the menu. For a real treat, try the Brew Kettle Ribs.

Tamarack Brewing Company is open daily from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. (but closes at 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday).

Stop by this summer and see why this place has staying power.

Have you ever treated yourself to some Tamarack?
