The Massive Prime Rib At Sir Scott’s Oasis In Montana Belongs On Your Dining Bucket List

Sir Scott’s Oasis, a famous steakhouse in Manhattan, Montana, has permanently closed after nearly 40 years of serving hand-cut steaks and prime rib.

Unfortunately, Sir Scott's Oasis has permanently closed.

If you've lived in Montana longer than about five minutes, you've probably heard of Sir Scott's Oasis. Located in the tiny town of Manhattan near Bozeman and Belgrade, this timeless steakhouse serves incredible food and enjoys its local fame. But if you've never tried the prime rib there, you owe it to yourself to visit again as soon as possible.

Sir Scott's Oasis has been serving steaks from this unassuming building in Manhattan for almost 40 years.

Owners Scott and Marie Westphal opened the restaurant themselves, and for a while, they were the only employees.

Luckily, this business now has more than 40 employees, and they're much-needed.

Although Sir Scott's has been around for decades, it stays perpetually busy during dinnertime. If you're planning to come on a weekend, you'll definitely want to make a reservation.

This is a steakhouse, so naturally, that's what the specialty is here.

You can choose from a great list of steaks, all of which are aged and hand-cut onsite daily.

The monstrous 22 oz. prime rib is a top pick, and for good reason: it is truly delectable.

The meat comes already smothered in delicious au jus, so there's no need to dip.

The prime rib actually comes in three sizes, and 22 ounces is the largest.

But if you're going to order this tasty dish, you may as well go big. That's what to-go boxes are for!

Sir Scott's is now famous across the state of Montana, and it has even received some national recognition.

One of its claims to fame is being featured on a "Beef, it's what's for dinner" ad in 1989. After the commercial aired, Scott said the business grew from 12 employees and $400,000 in annual sales to 22 employees and more than $1 million in annual sales in only a year.

Sir Scott's Oasis is open daily, so you can have prime rib anytime you're craving it.

Tuesday through Sunday, hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Mondays, they're open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Sir Scott's Oasis is so famous, it doesn't even need an official website. Check it out the next time you need some prime rib in your life.
