It's no secret that we love our huckleberries here in Montana. Many of our hiking trails are brimming with them, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a local shop or restaurant that doesn't offer huckleberry products. But if you really want to pay homage to this beautiful berry, head to Trout Creek in August for the annual Huckleberry Festival.
The Trout Creek Huckleberry Festival is a weekend-long celebration of food, fun, and fantastic local vendors.
The weekend kicks off with a parade and ends with the Huckleberry Dessert Contest on Sunday.
The festival got its start around 40 years ago, when a group of local artists came together to designate a spot to sell their creations.
Vendors with freshly picked huckleberries enjoyed being able to sell their fruit, too.
Art and locally made gifts still play a large role in the festival, so come prepared to shop.
This year's vendors include Abby's Special Dips, Trout Creek Nursery, and many more.
And of course, you'll have all the huckleberry treats you could ever want at your fingertips.
From perfectly baked pie to huckleberry shakes, this festival will have the sweet treats you're craving.

Enter if you dare.
This year's festival dates are August 9 - 11, with most festivities taking place at Trout Creek Park.
Trout Creek has been named the Huckleberry Capital of Montana, so there's no better place to have this delicious festival.
Best of all, when you're finished with festival fun, you can enjoy the sunset over the Clark Fork River.
