9 Country Restaurants In Montana That Are So Worth The Trip
Discover some of Montana's hidden gem restaurants that are worth the drive for their delicious meals.
While you'll find plenty of fantastic roadside Montana restaurants always in plain view, some of our eateries are a little more secluded. And sometimes, those hidden gems serve some seriously scrumptious meals. These are a few that are always worth the drive.
1. Lolo Creek Steakhouse, 6600 US Highway 12 W., Lolo
When you're in the mood for a good old-fashioned stick-to-your-ribs dinner, just cruise down Highway 12 until you hit Lolo. There's a reason this charming spot has been so popular for years.
2. Von's Cafe, 607 3rd Ave. E., Eureka
Located just a few miles from the Canadian border, Eureka itself is a bit of a trek for most Montanans. But if you ever visit, make sure to check out this charming little cafe — the burgers and homemade soups are fantastic.
3. The Jersey Lily, 1 Main St., Ingomar
A trip to the iconic Jersey Lilly feels like going back in time. Besides, this piece of living history also happens to have some mouthwatering steak and beans.
4. Two Sisters Cafe, 3600 US Highway 89 N., Babb
You might not expect this eclectic little eatery to serve such menu items as grilled Alaskan salmon or this Mexican chicken. But they do, and they also happen to make some of Montana's best pies.
5. Penny's Diner, 2004 N. Merrill Ave., Glendive
You might not expect to find a 24 hour 50s-style diner way out in Glendive, but Penny's is always open. And who among us hasn't craved a milkshake or a burger at midnight?
6. The Silver Spur, 13891 U.S. Hwy. 2, Troy
The Silver Spur serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, and they do it quite well. From their prime rib dinners to Friday's fish fry, you'll always find something amazing on the menu.
7. Montana Cafe, 614 N Main St., Darby
This restaurant is rustic, and that only adds to its charms. Open Tuesday through Saturday for breakfast and lunch, Montana Cafe is a must-see when you're passing through Darby.
8. Sir Scott's Oasis, 204 W. Main St., Manhattan
Unfortunately, Sir Scott's Oasis has permanently closed.Manhattan is a beautiful drive from Bozeman and Belgrade, but it's not always the most convenient trek. But when a steak at The Oasis is on the agenda, you'll never mind.
9. Grizzly Bar, 1 Main St., Roscoe
Grizzly Bar has earned such an outstanding reputation over the years that no one even questions the drive to a spot that quite literally feels like the middle of nowhere. Clearly, they're doing something right.
Montana has so many wonderful restaurants out in the country. That being said, sometimes you don't have to look further than your own neighborhood for a mouthwatering meal.
