From Ramen to Udon: Discover Montana’s Best Noodles
From savory ramen to slurp-worthy udon, the Noodle House in Billings is a must-visit spot for noodle lovers of all ages.
I have always loved noodles. Growing up, the cheap Ramen from local grocery stores was a staple in my diet. However, nothing prepared me for my first bite of authentic, fresh, delicious noodles. While there are several restaurants throughout the Treasure State where you can dive into a bowl that will satisfy your every craving, the best noodles in Montana are found in Billings at Noodle House. Whether you are in the mood for Ramen, udon, or another noodle dish, you’ll find it here, prepared to perfection.
The Noodle House, located on Central Avenue in Billings, offers a little bit of everything. This restaurant specializes in dishes from Southeast Asia, bringing a truly flavorful and unforgettable addition to the food scene in southern Montana.
Why This Restaurant Is a Noodle Lover’s Dream
There are many reasons to love Noodle House and several reasons why it draws in such a crowd. For starters, not only will you walk into this restaurant and be greeted with friendly smiles, but the vibe will make you want to sit and stay for a while. Plus, everything on the menu is prepared fresh each day, and no matter what you order, after your first bite, you’ll notice the quality and difference between this restaurant and others throughout the state.
I recommend you come hungry because the menu is extensive. Just as the name of this restaurant suggests, there are nearly a dozen noodle dishes to choose from. Some options include Yaki udon, a Japanese stir-fried noodle dish, and Japchae, also known as Korean noodles, which consists of a stir-fried sweet potato noodle, shiitake mushrooms, Bok choy, cabbage, onions, bell peppers, carrots, green onions, and your choice of a protein.
If you are like me and love a little heat with your meal, you’ll want to try spicy menu items like the drunken noodles, featuring wide rice noodles with Thai chilis, Thai basil, onions, bell peppers, your choice of protein, and a spicy sauce.
And, of course, you can’t forget about the fresh ramen served at the Noodle House, which is prepared with their house-made stock and served with your choice of protein, soft-boiled egg, caramelized shallots, green onions, and cilantro.
Other Must-Try Dishes at This Montana Restaurant
While noodles are certainly the star of the show at the Noodle House, it’s just the beginning of items on the menu. Try one of the many rice dishes like the house-style fried rice, broccoli and beef, Thai basil, or orange chicken. And to complement every dish, don’t forget to order the fresh spring rolls, wontons, potstickers, egg rolls, or one of the many other quick bites. Vegetarian dishes are also available.
And for the perfect touch to your meal, add a Boba Tea to your order, which is a traditional Taiwanese tea with small tapioca pearls and other toppings. There truly is something for everyone here.
