The tiny eatery has garnered a reputation for its version of a state specialty – the slugburger. If you’re not familiar with the tasty creation, the name may be a little off-putting but don’t worry – it doesn’t contain actual slugs. Situated along Highway 72, the White Trolley Café has been serving Corinth since 1947.

It’s located at 1215 Hwy. 72 E. in Corinth.

Since the first day the café opened, its specialty has been the slugburger. The popular delicacy is made by combining beef, pork, and soy grits, which are used as an extender.

The name may seem unusual but once you learn the origin, it makes sense. "Slug" was once the slang term for a nickel and that just so happened to be how much the burgers cost.

Step inside the café and you’ll find a long counter lined with stools, which are usually occupied by locals.

There’s also few tables tucked away in the back corner.

Since the White Trolley Cafe is such a popular spot, there may be a bit of wait when you arrive but seats usually open up pretty quickly.

This is a no-frills type of place, so orders are placed at the counter.

Ordering a slugburger is a must while at the White Trolley Cafe, but its not the only thing you'll find on the menu.

The eatery also serves regular beef burgers and hearty southern breakfasts.

And perhaps even better than the food are the prices.

A slugburger without cheese will cost you just 85 cents; with cheese, 99 cents. According to customer reviews, you'll want to order at least two along with some fries and a Coke.
