This Mississippi Restaurant Is So Remote You’ve Probably Never Heard Of It

Of all the remote eateries in Mississippi, Ravine has got to be one of the most obscure. It’s so hidden, in fact, that even though it’s located just a few miles from Oxford’s well-known Square, most people have no idea it even exists. However, if you’re a fan of amazing food served in an equally as impressive atmosphere, Ravine should definitely be on your radar. (Or should I say GPS?)

A city known for great food, Oxford, especially the Town Square, is filled with some amazing restaurants. However, one of the city’s best eateries is tucked away on a rural road three miles away -

and it’s known as Ravine.

Perfectly secluded, the remote restaurant is housed in a rustic log cabin and surrounded by a mixture of oak and pine trees.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the beautiful grounds, which include several stunning gardens.

Though beautiful year-round, the grounds are especially stunning during the fall as the leaves begin to change.

Step inside and you're sure to be equally as impressed with the interior.

The dining room includes plenty of large windows, so you can admire the beautiful grounds even while inside.

Surrounded by woods, the restaurant’s patio is the perfect choice for a more secluded dining experience.

As far as the fare, it’s described as "contemporary Southern" and includes a variety of beef, pork, seafood, and pastas.

Most of the dishes are made using locally grown, fresh, and seasonal foods, with some of the ingredients coming straight from the restaurant's gardens.

Though the menu changes weekly, Wednesdays are always devoted tapas and Sundays to brunch and "family suppers."
