Housed in a former gas station, the Historic Klondyke Trading Post Restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in the state.

The building and surrounding area have a history older than the state itself.

It’s safe to say that many, many generations have frequented this historic spot.

The current restaurant has been around since the 1930s. Before that, some variation of a restaurant, saloon, or bar has set up shop here since the 1890s! And even before that, the location can be traced back to a time when indigenous Americans used the area as a trading post. Its close proximity to both the Yazoo River and Glass Bayou made it a prime spot for trading goods with other tribes.

When it comes to down-home, southern meals, nothing compares to Klondyke.

Just look at that plate! By now, your mouth should be watering because mine is!

The Klondyke is always cooking up a special treat for each day of the week, and it ranges from meatloaf to fried chicken.

Just be sure you come hungry because the portions are very generous!

The steaks at Klondyke are a hidden gem on the menu.
