A Train Car Turned Sweet Shop, Caboose Cones In Mississippi Is Sure To Delight Kids And Kids At Heart

Caboose Cones is a unique sweet shop housed in an old railcar in downtown Ocean Springs, offering ice cream, snowballs, and other treats.

The next time you get a hankering for something sweet haul your caboose to Caboose Cones! Not your typical sweet shop, it’s housed in an old caboose (hence the name). Between the unique setting and menu filled with ice cream, snowballs, and other treats, a visit is sure to delight kids and kids at heart.

Hiding in plain sight, Caboose Cones is tucked away in the heart of downtown Ocean Springs.

And though it may be a bit off the beaten path, it’s pretty hard to miss since it’s housed in a real caboose.

The authentic railcar was once part of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, which was in operation from 1850–1982.

Today, instead of passengers, the railcar is filled with sweets galore!

Open seasonally and weather permitting, Caboose Cones doles out ice cream, snowballs, drinks, candy, and more.

The stuffed snowballs, which come in color-changing souvenir cups, are the top-seller.

Take your treats to-go, or...

...enjoy them at one of the on-site picnic tables.

Obviously, it’s Mississippi, so it’s going to be hot out; however, the tables are pretty well shaded, thanks to several large oaks. There’s also a small play area to keep younger ones entertained.
