Housed in a small, modest brick building, Bully’s Restaurant doesn’t look like your typical renowned restaurant. However, great eateries come in all shapes and sizes – and Bully’s Restaurant can definitely attest to that. It’s been doling out its down-home soul food for decades.

Jackson’s favorite soul food kitchen, Bully’s Restaurant has been a part of the capital city since 1982, when it opened its doors on Livingston Avenue.

Usually, a packed parking lot is the sign of a good restaurant. That definitely holds true for Bully’s Restaurant – its parking lot practically stays full from the time the restaurant opens until it closes.

The jam-packed parking lot is without a doubt a direct result of the restaurant’s down-home soul food.

Of course, the friendly setting probably has something to do with it, too. Not only does the restaurant have very little employee turnover, but staff members shout greetings as diners walk through the door.

Now, back to the food - it’s all made from scratch (and love), using age-old family recipes.

The end result is authentic Southern grub that’s consistently delicious.
