Some Of Mississippi’s Best Fudge Can Be Found Inside This Small Town Butcher Shop
The Knight Butcher in Laurel, Mississippi, is renowned for its homemade fudge and a variety of meats and local products.
When looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, a butcher shop is probably the last place that comes to mind. However, that could be a mistake because as it turns out, some of Mississippi’s best fudge comes from a butcher shop. Of course, the fudge is just one of the many tasty reasons to visit. Take a look:
There’s a lot to love about the charming town of Laurel, and The Knight Butcher is one of them.
Opened in 2015, the full-service butcher shop is located in the heart of downtown Laurel on Central Avenue.
Though it’s only been open for five years, the butcher shop has long been in the making for owners and spouses, Chad and Terri Knight.
Like any other butcher shop, it boasts an impressive selection of meats, which includes beef, pork, chicken, and lamb.
However, unlike most butcher shops, The Knight Butcher sells fudge.
Yep, you read that right, fudge. But not just any fudge. According to past patrons, the fudge at The Knight Butcher is some of the best in the state.
Its popularity is no surprise when you learn that it’s made fresh daily.
Not only is it homemade, but it comes in roughly three dozen flavors, which include everything from classic fudge to those flavored with candies, cereals, and more.
The tasty fudge isn’t the only item made daily at the butcher shop, though. Beef jerky is also made in-house daily – and it’s as popular as the fudge.
Brown bag lunch specials are also part of the offering and are available every day from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
In addition to all the tasty goods prepared on-site, The Knight Butcher carries a slew of locally produced products, such as LoblolliePops, Jones Toffee, and Grumpy Man Salsa and Pepper Jelly, to name a few.
Serving up meats, sweets, and other eats, The King Butcher is a great place to satisfy your craving for...well, just about anything!
