I don't know about you, but whenever I find myself in one of the delightful small towns that dot the Land of 10,000 Lakes, I find myself looking for some small-town, scratch made cooking. And more often than not, those towns do not disappoint, as most have at least one church, one bar, and one homestyle restaurant in Minnesota. In the community of Sacred Heart, a village of just over 500 hundred people in western Minnesota's Renville County, that restaurant is Kathy's Place.
Kathy's Place is a hometown staple in the small Renville County town of Sacred Heart.
Inside, you'll find a bright and welcoming but no-nonsense ambiance.
Folks would feel just as comfortable tucking into a quick lunch on a break from work as they would lingering over coffee with friends long after the breakfast dishes had been cleared.
On the menu, you'll find what you'd hope in a hometown diner like Kathy's Place: hearty breakfasts, sandwiches, and scratch-made entrees.
There's usually a special, like the popular beef and meatloaf commercials.
Other days, you'll find whole plate-loads of down-home goodness on offer, like the diner's baked chicken dinner special and other rib-sticking dishes that rotate across the specials board at Kathy's Place.
If you're looking for something sweet with which to finish - or start - your meal, fret not: Kathy's Place has you covered.
Whether it's a caramel roll before breakfast, a cookie or bar after lunch, or a slice of pie at any time, you'll find something to satisfy your sweet tooth.
And if your meal satisfied your hunger and you're not ready for dessert, you can always grab a goodie to go.
You certainly won't leave Kathy's Place hungry - well, you shouldn't anyway... you can always order seconds or thirds! Check out the restaurant's Facebook page for more information and to get a feel for its homestyle fare. If you're not a Renville County resident, you'll find Kathy's Place right on U.S. Route 212 in Sacred Heart, so it's a perfect place for a pit stop on any road trip to or through this part of the state.
