In my experience, you can't judge a book by its cover when searching for a place to eat. Some of the best spots are tiny hole-in-the-wall places with very misleading exteriors. This is why Le Mu Eats is one of my favorite hidden gems. The locals certainly know it's there, and thankfully, they spread the word pretty well because this little shack is always packed!
Le Mu Eats is a unique Asian Fusion restaurant located in Bethel, a small town in the lakes and mountains region of western Maine.
The outside of Le Mu Eats is colorful and bright with a blue canvas and splashes of yellow. It definitely looks like a hole-in-the-wall place, but let me tell you, the food is out of this world!
The Angry Rooster fried chicken sandwich is one of the restaurant's top sellers and on the top of my list!
It is made up of a red curry buttermilk-brined fried chicken and is served on a brioche bun with house-made chili aioli, slaw, and cucumber pickles. All of the chicken is fried fresh to order and the restaurant uses local produce.
Le Mu Eats has a variety of fusion dishes that will make your mouth water.
From dishes with falafel and kimchi to pork belly salmon, it's guaranteed that the dishes are exclusive to Le Mu Eats.
The Khao Poon is a sweet and spicy dish that will make your taste buds scream "UMAMI!" Trust me, I've tasted it!
It's a noodle soup with red curry and pork broth. It's made with coconut milk and topped with cabbage, carrots, watermelon radish, mint, cilantro, scallions, and toasted coconut.

If you're looking for something that'll put a spring in your step, the restaurant also has a variety of specialty cocktails and they're so yummy!
Their spicy margarita is one of my favorites at Le Mu Eats because of its traditional frozen margarita texture and the subtle heat in the aftertaste.
Of course, a night out at Le Mu Eats isn't complete without dessert.
Le Mu Eats always has something new and fresh on the menu for a sweet treat. And, of course, they use local fruits!
