Wondering where to get the best blueberry pie in Maine? A stop at any of these five restaurants is sure to calm your craving.
Every state has an iconic dessert, and in Maine, this just so happens to be blueberry pie. With fresh wild blueberries in abundance, it is no wonder that so many local restaurants serve up this delicious treat. But where can you go to get the best blueberry pie in Maine? I’ve narrowed the list down to five fantastic restaurants. Be sure to bring your appetite and leave plenty of room for dessert.

1. Mabel's Lobster Claw - Kennebunkport

Tucked into the picturesque coastal town of Kennebunkport is a fantastic little restaurant called Mabel’s Lobster Claw, where you can dine on two of Maine’s best foods, lobster and blueberry pie. What could be better than that? Mabel's turns out large pie slices overflowing with sweet berries and a delicious crust. The pies are served with a heaping side of classic vanilla ice cream, which perfectly complements the sweet treat.
2. Maine Diner - Wells
The legendary Maine Diner in Wells is known for its classic New England comfort food and local seafood dishes, but you can’t walk out their doors without sampling a slice of the diner's outstanding blueberry pie. Order your pie à la mode or just as is; you can’t go wrong either way. And if you can’t make it to Wells to grab a slice, no worries, the Maine Diner will ship a whole blueberry pie right to your door.
3. Two Fat Cats Bakery - Portland
There is a little Portland bakery with an unusual name that is known throughout the state for its remarkable pies and wonderful desserts. Two Fat Cats Bakery whips up fresh pies of all flavors, each made from scratch with quality ingredients. Their Wild Maine Blueberry Pie is available year-round and can be ordered in three different sizes. Or if you are craving blueberries but in the mood for something a bit different, you can order the Triple Berry Pie, made with blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries, or the Black & Blue Pie with additional ginger and blackberries.
4. Helen's Restaurant - Machias
You know that a restaurant is good when it has been making customers happy with delicious food for decades. Helen’s Restaurant in the town of Machias has been in business since the 1950s, and I’m sure that their well-known pies are part of the reason that customers keep returning again and again. There are more than half a dozen freshly made pies to choose from, but the award-winning Baked Wild Blueberry Pie is a local favorite. Even if you aren’t in the area, a trip to Helen’s is worth the drive.
5. Moody Diner - Waldoboro
The Moody Diner in Waldoboro rounds out our list of the best blueberry pies in Maine. This midcoast family-owned diner has been in business since 1927 and is still going strong. While all of the food here is good, you could make a meal of the dessert options alone. Along with the overly generous portions of decadent blueberry pie, the diner serves up fresh doughnuts and classic Maine whoopie pies.
