Sometimes it feels like kids have all the luck. They're the ones who get to have fun at recess during school, the ones who can get away with running around the neighborhood until dinner time, and the ones who have a good excuse to play video games with their friends. Until now! All over the country bars and restaurants with new and vintage arcade games are popping up, reminding us that adults can have just enough fun as kids. In the case of this spot in Maine, we may be having even more fun!
Drip City Arcade Bar in Waterville offers the chance for grown ups to be kids again. With a few minor improvements including cocktails, beer and fun food.
Owned and operated by Andy and Amanda Chapman, this place is truly a family affair. Their daughters, who attend Winslow High School, work here too!
The bar arcade opened just before the pandemic began which gave them a bit of a rough start, but that hasn't continued to slow them down!
They're known in the area for an extensive beer collection. In fact, if you try all 50 of the beers on tap you officially become a member of their 50 Beer Club. No easy feat, but certainly a fun one!
A menu that includes both entrees and appetizers such as pickle fries and these raspberry cream cheese chimichurris, makes the food here some of the most unique in the area.
While patrons rave about the drinks and menu, it's the retro arcade games that make this place truly special.
All the games you remember as well as some you probably won't, offer to fill your time here with some friendly high-score competition.
The games definitely provide a great throw-back, but the fun doesn't end there.
Theme events like '90s night include all the right music, as well as drinks like this Hi-C flavored ecto cooler.
We also love things like their brunch specials which include mimosas and bloody mary cocktails.
Drip City offers one unique night out that you'll want to experience the next time you're feeling nostalgic for the good ol' days!
Drip City Arcade Bar is open Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. You can learn more about them by visiting their website or by following them on Facebook. They can be reached at 207-616-0657.
Know what else reminds us of childhood? Grilled cheese and we've got a great place for you to enjoy it! The most comforting food in Maine is the grilled cheese served at this new cafe.
