The Worcester Lunch Company made pre-fabricated diners from 1906 to 1957, and shipped them all over the country. While many of those classic diners have gone by the wayside, there are two left in Maine. A1 Diner in Gardiner, serves up delicious food, including some burgers to die for, and it's been around since 1946. Check it out:
Welcome to A1 Diner! This charming little diner has been serving up delicious diner food since 1946.
It's been lovingly preserved ever since, and you'll feel as though you've gone right back to the 1940s the moment you step in the door.
Little details, like the tile floor and swivel bar stools add plenty of charm and a dose of nostalgia...
...and the old-school menu board is another retro touch you'll love.
Fall in love even more with A1 Diner when you order one of the juicy burgers on the menu.
These burgers are made fresh, with quality ingredients. There are 10 different kinds to choose from, including versions like the bacon burger, blue cheese burger, north of the border and south of the border burgers, and more.
