Experience Over 250 Years Of History When You Visit The Old-School Court Of Two Sisters In New Orleans

There are countless historic restaurants in the Crescent City, but few are as charming and enchanting as The Court of Two Sisters. Whether you visit them for brunch or dinner, you’re bound to be mesmerized by this historic little restaurant that’s been a local favorite for well over half a century.

Snuggled up on historic Royal Street in the French Quarter, The Court of Two Sisters is one of the most enchanting restaurants in New Orleans.

Just from the exterior, you can tell this is one of those restaurants where you feel the history from the moment you step inside.

The building dates back to 1832 and was built for Jean Baptiste Zenon Cavelier.

He and his wife Louise and their five children all lived upstairs while he and his brother ran stores on the street level.

Over the years, ownership has changed hands many times and the building has been everything from a bistro to a speakeasy, but it’s been some type restaurant in one sense or the other since the late 1920’s.

Known for its Jazz brunches and outdoor dining, this historic restaurant has one of the most spectacular courtyards in New Orleans.

Maybe even the world. The restaurant is named after two sisters, Emma and Bertha Camors, who purchased the building in 1886. They opened "The Shop of Two Sisters" and sold Mardi Gras costumes, ballgowns, and exotic perfumes before closing the shop in 1904.

One of the most iconic features of the courtyard is the fountain.

It’s a tradition for many to toss a coin into the fountain with a wish in mind. According to legend, the fountain is also known as the Devil’s Wishing Well, which is rooted in the belief that Marie Laveau must have practiced her voodoo rituals in the fountain, since she lived nearby.

The only thing better than the atmosphere is the food.

Serving dinner and weekend brunch, a meal at The Court of Two Sisters is certainly one you won't soon forget.

The menu is full of Creole classics with their own unique spin.
