Bubbles and Bites: Why This Kentucky Champagne Bar Shines During the Holidays
I visited The Champagnery on a cold December night and loved its polished, welcoming atmosphere and delicious champagne. This champage bar on Frankfort Avenue in Louisville is a fantastic spot for a holiday gathering or date night.
Does any drink pair better with a celebration than champagne? The light, bubbly drink is perfect for toasting and fits perfectly with promotions, awards, and announcements. In my opinion, champagne is a wonderful drink any time of year, but it is perhaps the most popular during the holiday season. An estimated 360 million glasses of champagne and sparkling wine are enjoyed on New Year's Eve alone. One spot in Louisville focuses on champagne and especially shines during the holiday season. I recently visited The Champagnery on Frankfort Avenue and couldn't get enough of its festive atmosphere.

I visited The Champagnery on a chilly December evening and fell in love with its polished decor, instrumental music, and welcoming environment. The clean, calm champagne bar was a welcome change after a busy week of attending holiday parties and events, picking out the perfect gifts, and wrapping them. A few patrons sat at the bar, and others gathered around bar-top tables. Friendly employees were busy serving drinks and preparing tables for an incoming party of eight. I happily sat on a plush leather couch and browsed the menu.

The drink menu included several champagnes by the class, like Moet Brut Imperial and Veuve Clicquot's Yellow Label. There were also sparkling wines, still wines, flights, and cocktails. I was particularly intrigued by the unique cocktails, like Sparkling Sangria and Turkish Espressotini, with chilled cardamom-infused espresso, Cynar, rum, and chocolate liqueur. The Champagnery menu included food, like a Cheese and Charcuterie Board, Baked Brie, Champagnery Caesar Salad, Seared Crab Cake, Steak Tartare, and Moroccan Meatballs.

I ordered the Champagne Cocktail d'Or, which had champagne, a sugar cube, bitters, and gold dust. It arrived a dark pinkish-orange color with a rapidly bubbling sugar cube in the bottom. Over the first few sips, I noticed that the drink became slightly sweeter and milder as the sugar dissolved. It had a wonderful refreshing and light taste, and I wondered if I could recreate it at home.
Sitting and sipping my drink, I looked at the art on The Champagnery's walls. Beautiful paintings, large and small, were spread throughout the white walls. As I browsed, I enjoyed the joyful atmosphere, with guests happily chatting and the bartenders sharing recommendations and stories. This champagne bar is ideal for gathering with friends or enjoying date night. It would also be a great meeting spot for a book club or mom's night out.
