Kansas's craft brewing scene has grown tremendously over the last few years, and one side effect of that has been the explosion in popularity of family-friendly breweries. It might sound a little odd to bring the kids to a place designed to brew up beverages for those who are 21+, but breweries are about so much more than just beer. These locally-owned businesses often have food, games, and a fun atmosphere that focuses heavily on supporting the local community. One brewery that has all of that in spades is the delightful Defiance Brewing Company. This brewery in Kansas has two locations in Hays, and you'll find lots of restaurants and bars all over the state serving up their tasty brews. Check it out:

In this article, we'll be using pictures of the downtown location, which serves food. The taproom location on Old Highway 40 does not serve food, but you are welcome to bring your own. Kids are welcome in the taproom as long as they're accompanied by an adult, and there are sodas available.

There's tons of seating available at the downtown location, and you'll find a clean, friendly environment with great service.

The brewery is filled with televisions, and at least one is usually showing cartoons, plus you'll find board games that are great for the whole family.

There are even a few arcade games everyone can indulge in!

The downtown location boasts a delicious menu full of brewpub eats like burgers, fries, garlic knots, and more.

You especially don't want to miss out on the wood-fired pizza. It's easy to see why it's such a big hit.
