Imagine the sizzle and pop of fried chicken in a skillet. Can you smell it just by memory? When you're in the mood for some old fashioned chicken dinners, this is the perfect place to visit. Have you ever had chicken at this family restaurant before? Let's check it out.
Welcome to Pichler's Chicken Annie's, a beautiful restaurant that's been serving chicken dinners since the original owner started selling them out of her home in 1934.
Ann Pichler worked hard to bring chicken dinners to the people to help make money for her family after her husband was disabled in a coal mining accident. They eventually had to move to a larger home to accomodate customers, and then in 1972, shortly after Ann had retired, they opened up shop in the present building.
There's nothing more welcoming than a small town Kansas restaurant, and one that smells like home fried chicken is even better. When you're here, you're family.
Speaking of those family chicken dinners, this is what they were ordering! Fried chicken, plenty of sides, and even spaghetti.
Ann Pichler worked hard on her recipes and they've been making them ever since she started her dream of cooking for the masses.
This friendly hometown restaurant is open from 4-8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 4-9 p.m. on Saturdays, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
Pichlers Chicken Annie's is located at 1271 S 220th St., Pittsburg, Kansas.
If you love classic style foods but you're more of a breakfast person, this restaurant in northeast Kansas is perfect for you.
