The craft beer industry is booming in the Sunflower State, and there's no shortage of amazing breweries in Kansas to check out. For a while, it looked like the trend seemed to have missed Emporia. This sizable city has a population of nearly 25,000, but, believe it or not, hadn't had a brewery since Prohibition days... that is, until Radius Brewing Company opened in 2014. This delicious spot is Emporia's only microbrewery, but even if you aren't a fan of beers, you'll find plenty to love about this pub. It's a great gathering place for friends and family, and has some pretty stellar food in addition to all the brews. Check it out:
Radius quickly proved itself a popular gathering spot for those in Emporia and the surrounding area.
The interior is casual without being too low-key - it's perfect for a date night or gathering with a group of friends.
There's also a great outdoor area where it's not uncommon to find fun events like concerts.
As with any brewery, the beer is a big draw here. You'll find a great variety of brews on tap.
This is definitely not your average bar food, though!
You'll find a wonderful assortment of wood-fired pizzas, burgers, pasta, and more, with rotating specials so you never get bored.
The brewery's name comes from its efforts to obtain as many ingredients as possible from around a 100-mile radius.
That means you're supporting local farmers as well as a local brewery when you dine here - and enjoying some darn good beer!
