Who doesn't love pizza? If you don't love pizza, you probably shouldn't be on this site because you might not be as American as you think! The truth is, Indiana is loaded with so many pizza places it was hard to pick just a handful for this list! Here are ten killer options for some mouthwatering pizza!
1. Bazbeaux
Bazbeaux sticks out in Indianapolis as a must visit when you're ready to eat. I first encountered it on a random business trip. I went in on a whim and was hooked for life.
When you're downtown on Mass Ave you can smell the amazing mix of pizza and Italian fare that wafts into the street. They have variety here, oh boy do they. You can enjoy the Neptune pizza with peas, shrimp, and crab or the all vegetable Margherita. Keep in mind, they have a location in Caramel and Broad Ripple as well.
I can honestly say these are some of the best pizzas you'll find in the area. You pay a little more but you get what you pay for. You can count on local ingredients.
2. Jockamo
Jockamo is just waiting for you in Irvington to come on down and try their pizza. This is the place to go if you're looking for a creative pizza you're not going to find anywhere else. They have an all-meat pizza if you don't like veggies and they even have a hangover pizza! The best part is they have gluten free options as well as local ingredients. Yum!
3. Arni’s
This particular pizza place is all over Indiana. There are a few in the north, a few in the south, and a ton in the middle. So, you should have no trouble finding one regardless of what part of Indiana you live in. If you recognize the way they cut their pizza in the squares and the way they dice their peppers because of how many times you’ve eaten at Pizza King, you should know this pizza chain is where Pizza King got that idea from.
4. Thr3e Wise Men
If you go to Thr3e Wise Men for lunch, the spicy sausage and pepperoni pizza is easily the best thing on the menu. Located in Indianapolis, this is a great place if you are craving pizza with a little extra crunch.
5. Greek’s Pizza
Greek’s Pizza is a very popular pizza place for individuals who go to (or visit) Ball State University. There has always been a rumor that the one and only John Schnatter of Papa John’s actually worked at Greek’s Pizza for some period of time. You can find a Greek’s Pizza in Fishers, Broad Ripple, Greenwood, and downtown Indianapolis too. The pizza they offer is very basic, but still very delicious.
6. Carriage Court Pizzeria
Located in Crown Point, the Carriage Court Pizzeria has been proudly serving the area with some of the finest pizza your mouth can taste for 25 years. There are some people who claim you come more for the high quality service than the food. The staff treats you like royalty while you're here.
7. Barnaby's
Barnaby's is a very old establishment that has been in South Bend since 1969. In fact, it has been voted by the locals as the best place to get pizza every year since 2003. They have a sourdough crust that's to die for. They also have thin and crunchy crust that will send your taste buds into a frenzy.
8. Bruno's Italian Pizza
In 1979 Bruno's Italian Pizza first opened their doors to the public making it another fairly old pizza joint in the northern part of Indiana. Ever since they opened, they've been known for serving award worthy pizza to the people of Elkhart. This is a place that is interested in homemade crust, homemade sauce, and local ingredients.
9. Gelsosomo's Pizza
Gelsosomo's Pizza is another pizza place that opened in 1979 in the northern portion of Indiana. It started out as a single pizza place in Portage and has expanded to four different locations all in the northern part of the state. Hot sandwiches, appetizers, and salads are all on the menu, but it's the pizza that keep the customers coming back for more.
10. Stop 50 Wood Fired Pizzeria
Stop 50 Wood Fired Pizzeria features traditions and methods of making pizza that originate in Napes, Italy back in 1839. This is a great place to go in the northern portion of the state if you're looking for Napoletana-style pizza. The ingredients are fresh and both the dough and sauce is homemade inside of the pizzeria.
Did you not see your favorite pizza joint in this list? (Yes, I left out Pizza King on purpose.) Give me some recommendations in the comments and I'll see what I can do about a part two with YOUR suggestions as the features. Don't be surprised if you gain a little weight after reading this!
