Which means the thought of a local candy shop overflowing with colorful treats is enough to make you forget that the word "vegetable" even exists.

Boise's beautiful Bown Crossing is a special area that is hard not to fall in love with. Quaint stores line the charming main street - it's never unusual to drive through and see folks in the community talking, laughing, eating, and shopping in a casual small town atmosphere in the middle of the big city. Tucked away within this lovely section of Idaho's capital is an adorable old-school candy shop that is not only filled top to bottom with your favorite retro and undiscovered candies, but features over a dozen flavors of gelato, a cotton candy machine, and so much more. Cravin's Candy Emporium is an adorable candy shop owned and operated by husband and wife team John and Debbie for over a decade.

Walking in the front door, you'll find yourself surrounded by colorful packages, proclaiming the best, chewiest, sweetest flavors on the planet.

Rainbow lollipops, chocolates, gum, even entire displays filled with every flavor of candy cane stick you can think of. And saltwater taffy? Baskets galore!

The counters are lined with adorable apothecary jars brimming with nostalgic treats.

Cravin's incredible jaw breaker selection alone features these glorious candies ranging from tennis ball-sized down to that of a Sixlet. WOW.

And speaking of Sixlets... there's a whole wall of them, here!

Cravin's is divided into sections that each feature a particular nostalgic theme or candy preference: Jelly Bellys, gummi candy, Pez, retro gum, novelties... right now, there's even a British-themed Harry Potter corner so you can get your fix of Berti Botts.

Appropriately, Willy Wonka is playing on two screens to get you in the sweet spirit.
