I Dined Inside Two Chefs’ Apartment in Atlanta, Georgia — and It Felt Like a Secret Supper Club

Atlanta, Georgia has a rich underground dining scene, but none are as secret or satisfying as Wick and Nick's.

There are notable chef’s table experiences in Atlanta, Georgia, and a number of private dining experiences, but none can touch the magic of Wick and Nick’s in Grant Park. Under red and purple lights, the question of what the evening holds isn’t immediately answered. As you open the door and round the corner from the entryway, passing a bedroom on the right, only then does the full scene unfold.

The majority of the underground dining happens in secret restaurants around Atlanta, often as pop-ups inside an established restaurant on the days it’s typically closed. Chefs Jared Warwick and Ben Skolnick instead open their home, filling it with everything they need to create a curated space to serve seven courses. It’s only after you’ve bought a ticket that they release their address, where you can join them for their tasting menu.

The Wick and Nick’s Cheat Sheet:

  • The Concept: A high-end, 7-course "secret" tasting menu served inside the chefs' private Grant Park apartment.
  • The Atmosphere: Mid-century modern "living room" vibes with a vintage sound system curated by Omni’s Philip Frobos.
  • The Price: $175 per person (includes 7 courses; often features "off-menu" surprises).
  • How to Join: Tickets are released monthly via the Wick and Nick’s website. The exact address is only shared after booking.
  • Pro Tip: Arrive exactly on time to snag the best seats in the living room, as seating is first-come, first-served.

Initial Thoughts on Wick's & Nick's

If you’ve ever attended an Atlanta supper club, you know it’s centered around the atmosphere and a more leisurely pace. The menu typically includes around four or five courses. But it’s the “super deluxe” spin on Wick and Nick’s and the elusive location that makes it feel like a secret supper club.

Here, the menu, which is almost always seven courses, is finalized and released after the chefs announce the dates for each month. Once the dates are released, guests can purchase tickets to attend. Once you’ve arrived and make your way toward the building, all you need to do is look up. You’ll see the corner unit’s red glow and know you’re on the right track.

What It’s Like Inside This Secret Supper Club Experience

Once you’re inside the door, guests walk by the open-concept kitchen where Chef Warwick is often adding the final touches to the amuse-bouche. Passing more doors on the left before curving to the right again, past another bedroom, that’s when it sets in: You’re taking a seat in their living room, dotted with an eclectic mix of mid-century modern tables and chairs set among their couch and shelves filled with cookbooks and art. While the seating arrangements change from time to time, there’s enough room to accommodate parties of two to six. Be sure to arrive promptly for first dibs on your seat for the night, though.

Unlike a typical restaurant, the space is intimate — a reflection of the chefs’ lives after hours. Here, you sit among their belongings, ranging from an extensive plant collection to an impressive vintage sound system that plays their favorite songs and those selected by host Philip Frobos, the lead singer of Omni. Throughout the night, the chefs pause their work to step out from around the expo table to address guests and explain a few dishes at a time. They also share a bit about themselves and which Atlanta restaurants you’ll find them manning almost every other night of the week — just in case you can’t wait for the next Wick and Nick’s to roll around.

The Menu: What I Ate and What Stood Out

alt

I’ve been along for the ride since the very beginning of Wick and Nick’s: Blueblood, but it didn’t start there. Over a decade ago, Chefs Warwick and Skolnick decided to create a pop-up dedicated to truly excellent sandwiches. But that all changed in December 2023, along with the menu, when the pop-up shifted into its current iteration of supper club. No longer a selection of sandwiches, but a lengthy and ambitious menu ranging from amuse-bouche to desserts. No two menus are the same, and they sometimes include a surprise, off-menu bite.

The menu's evolution is best captured in the 'Fire & Ice Oyster.' A staple of the Blueblood series, the dish arrives shrouded in a glass cloche; when lifted, a plume of cold smoke dissipates, revealing a perfectly chilled oyster beneath. Other standouts from my visits include the tuna ceviche—balanced with aji dulce and delicate foam on crisp puffed rice paper—and anything featuring Warwick’s rich, velvety fonduta. While the plating leans toward a rustic, 'chef-at-home' style rather than clinical perfection, the complex textural compositions and bold flavor profiles are masterfully executed.

Both chefs have mastered textural composition and complex flavor combinations that are forcefully present, even if the plating could be tidier at times. Modifications can be made for allergies, such as gluten-free, or dietary restrictions, if necessary.

How to Book (And What to Know Before You Go)

Reservations are required for this unique, underground dining experience, and booking couldn’t be easier. Just head to Wick and Nick’s website and visit the reservations tab to purchase tickets priced at $175. Closer to your selected date, you’ll receive confirmation and additional information about the location, parking, and more.

If you’re wondering whether this supper club is worth the price tag, the answer is unequivocally, yes. Consider the cost of buying seven small plates at one of the best restaurants in Atlanta, and you’ll quickly find the price comparable. Better yet, the portions at Wick and Nick’s are consistently and considerably large for a tasting menu. It’s not uncommon for a guest or two to take leftovers home. Value aside, the experience of watching chefs at work as close as you are, from their living room to their kitchen, and hearing their explanation every few courses is well worth splurging for.

Is This One of the Most Unique Dining Experiences in Atlanta?

If you’re someone who tends to seek out underground or lesser-known experiences wherever you go, then Wick and Nicks is the place for you. Whether you’re a couple hoping for a cozy night out or looking for the next interesting idea to drop in the group chat, there’s a table setting for you at this unique dinner. Whatever your reason for booking a reservation, come hungry and trust the chefs’ palates. This is one reservation well worth keeping in mind when planning your trip dates. Consider capping a day trip from Atlanta or a day of playing tourist in the city with dinner here.

As a food and travel writer with over a decade of experience spanning the globe, Wick and Nick’s continues to present some of the best and most impressive dishes I’ve enjoyed — in Atlanta, or otherwise. Fortunately for me, it’s one meal I’d return to that doesn’t require a plane ticket.
