Delaware is an underrated foodie haven. While many people think you have to travel to Philadelphia or Baltimore to find a truly delicious steakhouse meal, those in the know head to Wilmington. In the city's timeless Little Italy neighborhood, Walter's Steakhouse has surely left its mark. If you find yourself craving the biggest and best prime rib in Delaware, you've got to make the drive.
On the corner of 8th Street and North Union, you'll find a humble little steakhouse that's been serving Wilmington for nearly 80 years.
The dining room has not changed much, nor has the dedication to excellent service and delicious, fresh food.
Start your meal with their steakhouse salad bar, which includes everything you need to craft the salad of your dreams.
Don't fill up on salad, though, because Walter's is known for having the best prime rib in Delaware.
They also serve up a mouthwatering bone-in ribeye, which is many times bigger than the plate it is served on!
No matter which steak you order here, you'll be blown away by the gigantic portions, taste, and tenderness.
Try to save room for dessert, because Walter's chocolate cake is the best way to top off an unforgettable meal.
Walter's Steakhouse is located at 802 N Union St, Wilmington, DE 19805. They're open for dinner from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Be sure to check out their website for current specials - as of January 2019, they're offering a complimentary seafood bar on Thursdays and Sundays, a $37 prime rib feast on Fridays, and half-priced appetizers on Mondays.
