The Quirkiest Restaurant In Connecticut That’s Impossible Not To Love
Thai In Love restaurant offers a quirky and unique dining experience with a mix of rustic diner and Thai decor, and a BYOB policy.
Have you ever been to a restaurant that can't seem to pick a theme? Or maybe it's just a weird combination that leaves you baffled? The quirky Thai In Love restaurant will leave you amused, and possibly smitten with its unique approach to modern dining. Check it out:
Thai In Love is easy to spot from the road.
It's tall diner sign and bright red shutters are hard to miss. But they're also misleading. This is not a diner, and despite it's quaint and country exterior, it's no country store either.
Many folks expect new age dining.
The clean logo paired with the modern details of large glass windows gives this place a young feel. The lone outdoor table and chalkboard drawings add a hint of fun.
But the restaurant's interior is a rustic diner.
Exactly what is going on here? Mason jars decorate the original diner style tops, and the wooden paneling makes the room feel cozy.
In keeping with its Thai cuisine, there are also some decorative Thai pieces.
Monk statuettes, for instance, although their heads have been covered with knitted beanies. You'll also find a larger elephant statue and a number of animal figurines throughout.
Surprisingly, this restaurant is also BYOB.
Or maybe it's not surprising. In fact, it's starting to seem like anything goes! So grab your favorite bottle of wine and enjoy a quirky date night. It's not hard to spice up the evening here since one of the themes is "love."
That's right. It's Valentine's Day every day at this hotspot.
Salt and pepper shakers hug each other. The waiting area is a red couch with love pillows and a stuffed bear. Statuettes are kissing and a colorful sign exclaims that the food is made with love.
So much love that the rice itself is shaped like a heart.
But don't be fooled. You can also order a plate called "Money Bags." If you've been dying to try someplace unique, this is the best place to get outside your comfort zone and have a little fun!
The restaurant is located at 209 Watertown Road, Thomaston, CT 06787.
