Food-related television shows have exploded in popularity over the last few years. Whether you're watching celebrity chefs at work in their own kitchens or virtually touring restaurants from all over the country, there's something entertaining about watching delicious meals being prepared on the small screen. Programs like "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" have huge fan bases, and many of the businesses featured on these shows end up gaining national fame from the appearance. If you're a big fan of that Food Network show hosted by the inimitable Guy Fieri, you may have recently seen our very own Nutmeg State featured. An August episode of the show spotlighted the wonderfully old-fashioned Stamford Diner in Stamford, CT. We already knew this place was special, and now it's been shown off to the entire world!
The episode was entitled "Tasty Time Travel," quite fitting for this retro-themed joint.
Walking in here feels like a step back in time to simpler days.
If you haven't visited the area in a few years, you may remember the diner by its former name, City Limits.
The restaurant changed hands (and names) in 2017.
While the restaurant has a decidedly old-fashioned feel, there are some modern touches. You can enjoy cocktails in front of television screens at the bar.
The matzo ball soup is one of the most popular items on the menu.
You really can't go wrong with any of the desserts, either!
I don't know about you, but there's something special about a diner breakfast. It's the perfect amount of satisfying fullness, deliciousness, and comfort food all rolled into one.
